Who could resist with a name like Kilt twister? This is the first time trying mead & it's a crowd favourite. It's subtly sweet, full of flavour & destinctly original. I found it was best served room temp and on it's own. Everybody got a bottle for Christmas because who could gatekeep this delicious secret!? 10/10 would recommend.
I order my solstice mead supply every year from Tugwell and can’t understand how these guys are able to ship their product so quickly. I live in the most remote part of Canada and the case shows up within a week. Oh and of course it’s all so delicious! The perfect winter sip.
I tried your Harvest Melomel, Sin Cyser, & Wicked Mistress meads and they were all amazing.
I quite enjoyed this bottle paired with all sorts of things. I had it with Asian foods, fish, red meat, chicken and even as a side to salads and burgers. This mead pairs wonderfully with so many things and has a very unique flavor to it. It has a dry nutty flavor to it which goes great with many meals.
I quite enjoy this as a dessert drink to accompany with other sweets or to just enjoy as a dessert. It has a very smooth and sweet flavor that I was very pleasantly surprised by.
This mead is very rich in flavor and has a really nice dry flavor. I quite enjoyed this bottle and will be ordering again in the future!
Love this take on Mead - it is an excellent post-dinner sipper!
Absolutely recommend! I truly enjoyed the tasting, and the grounds are gorgeous even in late August. Recommendations were spot-on and we took home 3 bottles of the sweeter port/harvest wine type meads. The Vintage Sac was a great pairing with the Strawberry Lemonade crumble from Shirley Delicious too!
Sweet and delicious
I have loved mead from the first time I tried it at a Medieval dinner in northern Scotland. So happy to be able to buy it on Vancouver Island!
My favourite is Wicked Mistress and Kilt Twister! And Solstice Metheglin. Actually I’ve never tasted one that I didn’t like!
Sweet, Honey, Floral, Fruity,Smooth, Nutty, Tropical, Layered.
Very nice place to come and taste the delicious mead.
Some of the best I've ever had
(Ended up buying 6 bottles afterwards)
The tasters are very smart and fun idea :)
Amazing honey mead ciders and gorgeous location make for a unique and enjoyable wine tasting adventure. Highly recommend!
Just bought Tugwell's mead at a wine store on Granville Island in Vancouver and it was the most delicious drink I've ever tasted! I thought it was wine until I did some research and realized that mead is an alcoholic drink made from fermented honey. So tasty and unique! I am now planning a trip to the meadery for this summer and will buy this mead by the case! Their website offers so many flavors as well. Looking forward to trying them all! :)
Can not say enough about this place. I did not know mead was wine made of honey. SO Good! Every type they had is lovely. The owners were so nice and informative. The place is beautiful and well kept with lots of animals and plants. They ship internationally and tasting fees go towards saving the bees!!
