Mead Recipes

These cocktail recipes come compliments of Jeremy Potts, Asst. Food and Beverage Manager at the Inn at Laurel Point.  They were a huge success at the Victoria Wedding Walk in February of 2013.  They are lower in alcohol and could be a great idea for wedding or events.

Wassail Flower

  • 1 oz Wassail Blush Mead
  • 5 oz Elderflower Sparkling Water
  • Garnish with a lemon twist
  • Serve in a champagne glass

Wassail Sunset

  • 1 oz Wassail Blush Mead
  • 5 oz Elderflower Cranberry Orange Sparkling Water
  • Garnish with a lemon twist
  • Serve in a champagne glass

Duke’s Solstice

  • 1 1/2 oz Gin
  • 3/4 oz Tugwell Creek Solstice Metheglin
  • 1/2 oz Strega
  • Dash of Bitter Truth Grapefruit Bitters
  • Stir & strain into a small, chilled coupete (or margarita glass). Garnish with a lemon twist

Solstice Daisy

  • 3 oz Tugwell Creek Solstice Metheglin
  • 3 dashes of Cointreau
  • 3 dashes of Gomme Syrup
  • 1/2 oz Lemon juice
  • Shake & strain and top with soda in a small Collins/fizz glass

Get thee to a Meadery

  • 1 1/2 oz Leblon Cachaca
  • 1 1/2 oz Tugwell Creek Solstice Metheglin
  • 1/3 oz Maraschino liqueur
  • 1/3 oz sugar syrup
  • 1/3 oz lime juice
  • Shake & double strain into a large chilled coupete (or margarita glass). Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
